Thank you for joining us at this year's Todd Hamann Memorial Golf Tournament!
In 2009, Hank, Marilyn, and Sean Hamann set out to honor the life of their son and broth
er, Todd, in a way that reflected who he was and what he loved most—his community. That vision became the Todd Hamann Memorial Foundation and, soon after, the Todd Hamann Memorial Golf Tournament, an event designed not only to remember Todd but to make a meaningful impact on the organizations he would have proudly supported.
After more than a decade of leading the Todd Hamann Memorial Foundation and its annual tournament, the Hamann family began looking for a way to step back from day-to-day operations while ensuring Todd’s legacy of giving continued. In December 2020, they chose to dissolve their foundation and establish the Todd Hamann Memorial Fund with the Warrensburg Schools Foundation. Through this partnership, the Schools Foundation now carries forward the annual Todd Hamann Memorial Golf Tournament, continuing to support causes that align with both Todd’s spirit and the Warrensburg Schools Foundation’s mission.
Over the years, tournament proceeds have supported programs such as ECHO (Early Childhood Hunger Operation) and the Tigers Den. ECHO provides weekend supplemental food for preschool children experiencing food insecurity, serving approximately 120 students each week through eight local daycare agencies. The Tigers Den, located at Warrensburg Middle School, offers clothing, hygiene items, and school supplies to students and families in need—an initiative especially close to the Hamann family’s heart.
The Warrensburg Schools Foundation uses its portion of tournament proceeds to fund Classroom Impact Grants, scholarships for students and educators, and academic recognition programs that support excellence across the district.
Hank and Marilyn Hamann have long been pillars of the Warrensburg community. Marilyn has built a career in real estate with ReeceNichols while generously serving on numerous local boards and committees. Hank dedicated 23 years to the Warrensburg R-VI School District as a science teacher and golf coach before retiring in 2001.
“We are deeply honored that Hank, Marilyn, and Sean chose the Warrensburg Schools Foundation to steward the Todd Hamann Memorial Fund,” said Marshall Abney, Vice President of the Foundation and a former student of Hank’s. “Their commitment to supporting children and families in our community is inspiring, and we are proud to continue this important work alongside them.”
By sponsoring or participating in the Todd Hamann Memorial Golf Tournament, you help preserve Todd’s legacy, strengthen educational opportunities, and invest in the future of Warrensburg Tigers. We are truly grateful for your partnership and support.
